The LA Office

I am starting the week in Los Angeles at the Alta Vista office. Ok, it is not really an office but it is the closest thing I have got. Check out the view. It could work.

Totally miss the girls in the office and can only imagine what they have gotten themselves into. Miss my dog even more. I return to the Midwestern promise land on Tuesday.

The LA gossip? Ran into a friend of mine from high school at a night club on Saturday night. Tried to be nice to Perez Hilton. Was a waste of my time. Am on the hunt for a new gossip source.

Lola v. Lolla

Ok so boss lady doesn't know this yet, but the three non-blondes are super pumped about this year's Lollapalooza line up. We all think we will make the pilgrimage to Chicago. Maybe we should just move Lola Red operations for the week... Lola at Lolla, sounds good right? Our out of office replay will say: During this week, our productivity will be greatly reduced. Please, darling, try to understand; We're busy RAWKING out!
Regretfully yours,
Lol(l)a

Feeling the Friday

I think I woke up in someone else’s bed this morning. No joke. It has been an extremely long and tiring week. My intelligence, wit and emotional stability have been on the fence all week. Ish. For some reason I woke up this morning and felt as if I was finally back in the game!!!!!!! F-yeah and it is Friday. Fridays are so fierce and fabulous. I heart alliteration.

One of Those Days

All's quiet on the Lola Red front now, but today had all the gals in a frenzy. A taste of the day:

- First my computer refused to function, despite the tech department (yours truly) toiling over it for quite some time. I left for a meeting and returned to find it miraculously fixed. I don't care how, why, or when it happened...just that it's healed.

- The HBIC (head blonde in charge) was out at meetings and preparing for tomorrow's Twin Cities Live segment about denim on the cheap then had to run over to FM107 for her regular Thursday stint on the Colleen and the Boys show.

- Leu was here holding down the fort, tracking down hamburger stickers (don't ask...), and writing up puns about paddle sports.

Denim is strewn about the office, my desk is covered in short-term food vendor applications (again, don't ask), and our candy supply is running dangerously low, but at least my computer is fixed.

Call Me!!!!!!!!

I am about 15 seconds away to creating an auto response for my email that notes:

“Due to the high email volume I have received today I not respond to your note in a timely manner. I am very busy sifting through hundreds of emails announcing that I have won the lottery in Nigeria or some other faraway land. If you would like my immediate attention please call me at 612.333.1723.”

Color of the Day: Green

The gang rolled in dressed in every color of the rainbow. Kate was on vaca yesterday and did not get the memo. Surviving the hellacious Minnesota winters is only bearable if you make your own sunshine.

We have spent a week trying to figure out the execution of a “green carpet” for a client’s event and found it today. We are bringing in the sod for $3.57 for a 13 foot roll. Amen and done!

Really?

Is there a full moon?

Today was one of the most insane days I have had in weeks I guess it did start with a shot of Gardasil and a little Activia, I should have known. Clients were all crazy busy, the gals in the office were full of quirks, our office phones are officially stupid and being replaced next week, my cell phone is now acting doing the exact same thing as the office phones, Core Power Yoga was so hot 5 people bailed, and everyone is losing it on Celebrity Rehab. Huh? Where did this come from?

Thankfully I am ending my day with Dr. Drew Pinsky. I think he just might be my perfect man. I am not reading too far into it.
